European gas prices continue to stay elevated due to a combination of factors including low storage levels, suspended LNG exports from Qatar, and the conclusion of the seasonal refilling phase. These conditions are putting upward pressure on the commodity's market, according to FX Street.

Norman Liebke of Commerzbank highlighted these key influences, noting that the ongoing supply constraints are a major driver behind the sustained high prices in Europe. The suspension of LNG shipments from Qatar further tightens the supply outlook amid already depleted storage reserves.

For Japanese markets, this trend is significant as fluctuations in European gas prices can indirectly affect global energy markets and influence fuel costs, which are critical inputs for Japan’s energy-import-dependent economy.
