The British Pound showed a modest recovery against the US Dollar, rebounding from its July 30 lows as traders positioned themselves ahead of the Bank of England's upcoming rate announcement on September 17, according to FX Street. The GBP/USD pair ended a three-day losing streak, trading around 1.3375 to 1.3370.

UOB strategists Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann noted that the GBP/USD briefly dropped to 1.3375 before closing at 1.3380, a decline they considered excessive but signaling potential for further downside. Meanwhile, the Euro slipped slightly against the Pound, trading below 0.8570 as investors awaited the BoE’s monetary policy decision.

For Japanese investors, the Pound’s movements remain important given the impact of UK monetary policy on global risk sentiment and currency markets, influencing carry trade dynamics involving the yen and other major currencies.
