The AUD/USD currency pair surged past the 0.7000 mark, overcoming a resistance level that had repeatedly held since June. According to FX Street, the pair climbed 1.06%, gaining roughly 85 pips from a session low near 0.6950 during early European trading hours.

This rally also saw the pair break through the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) positioned at 0.7000, a technical barrier that had capped gains for several months. FX Street highlighted that this move marks a significant shift in momentum for the Australian dollar against the US dollar.

For Japanese investors and traders, the AUD/USD’s breach of this key technical level may signal renewed risk appetite and could influence cross-asset flows, especially in FX and equities markets sensitive to commodity-linked currencies.
