S&P Global released preliminary Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for September, highlighting continued economic resilience in the US while the United Kingdom’s services sector expanded more slowly than anticipated. According to FX Street, the UK S&P Global Services PMI stood at 51.7 in September, down from 52.5 in August and below the expected 52.0, signaling a modest cooling in service sector growth.

US futures responded positively ahead of the PMI release, with Dow Jones futures rising 0.12% to around 52,350, S&P 500 futures up 0.10% near 7,840, and Nasdaq 100 futures edging 0.03% higher to approximately 31,040 during European trading hours, FX Street reported. These figures suggest investor optimism about the US economic outlook amid ongoing data releases.

For Japanese investors, the US economic resilience amid mixed global signals remains a key factor influencing FX and equity markets, underlining the importance of closely monitoring PMI updates as indicators of regional growth momentum.
