The People's Bank of China (PBOC) fixed the USD/CNY central reference rate at 6.7829 for the upcoming trading session on Wednesday, marking a slight increase from the previous day’s 6.7809, according to FX Street.

This figure also came in above the Reuters estimate of 6.7238, indicating a marginally weaker yuan against the dollar as guided by the central bank. The reference rate serves as a benchmark for market trading and reflects the PBOC’s stance on the currency’s valuation.

For Japanese investors and traders, monitoring the yuan’s reference rate is crucial given the close trade ties between Japan and China, as well as the impact of yuan movements on regional currency and equity markets.
