The US Dollar initially weakened following the release of CPI data but swiftly regained ground, with the dollar index returning to around 100.00. According to FX Street, Lee Hardman of MUFG noted that while markets slightly reduced their expectations, they did not abandon the prospect of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September.

US equity futures showed modest gains amid signs of cooling inflation. During European trading hours on Thursday, Dow Jones futures rose 0.08% to about 53,910, S&P 500 futures increased 0.09% to around 7,780, and Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.06%, trading near 29,870, FX Street reported.

For Japanese investors, these movements highlight ongoing global market sensitivity to US inflation data and Federal Reserve policy signals, factors that continue to influence FX and equity markets in Japan.
