The AUD/USD currency pair has entered a brief consolidation phase, trading between 0.7135 and 0.7170 following a sharp rise last week. Despite this pause, the overall upward trend remains intact, according to analysis shared by United Overseas Bank’s Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann, as reported by FX Street.
UOB analysts note that while the pair has slipped into this narrow range, the broader momentum still favors further gains above the 0.7200 mark in the medium term. This suggests that the recent pullback is a natural correction rather than a reversal of the trend.
For Japanese market participants, the AUD/USD’s stability amid global risk sentiment shifts offers an important gauge for cross-asset strategies, especially given Australia’s close trade ties with Asia and Japan’s exposure to commodity-linked currencies.
