The EUR/USD currency pair gained momentum on Friday, reaching an intraday peak of 1.1711, its highest level since May 14, before settling around 1.1677. This move was supported by broad US Dollar weakness and stronger-than-expected Eurozone Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for August.

According to FX Street citing Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), the Eurozone composite PMI hit a nine-month high, driven primarily by robust manufacturing activity. This positive economic signal helped the euro strengthen against the dollar, which had recently hit a three-month low.

For Japanese investors, this development is significant as fluctuations in EUR/USD can influence cross-currency trades and impact risk sentiment in FX and equity markets, especially amid ongoing global economic uncertainties.
