Economists at DBS, including Taimur Baig and Radhika Rao, have projected an increase in Singapore’s inflation rates for July. According to FX Street, headline inflation is expected to reach 2.4% year-on-year, while core inflation is forecasted at 2.3% year-on-year.
The rise is attributed mainly to higher energy and food prices, which continue to exert upward pressure on consumer costs in the city-state. This inflation outlook reflects ongoing global supply chain challenges and commodity price volatility.
For Japanese investors and traders, these inflation trends in Singapore are significant as they may influence regional monetary policies and impact FX and equity markets across Asia.
