Preliminary Purchasing Managers' Indices (PMIs) for August reveal contrasting trends between the US and the UK. According to FX Street, the US PMIs released by S&P Global indicate a slight easing in growth, though the expansion remains solid.
Meanwhile, the UK’s S&P Global Composite PMI surged to 52.5 in August, surpassing the expected 51.6. This growth was largely fueled by the services sector, where the flash Services PMI reached 52.8, beating estimates of 51.8. The composite reading also improved from July’s 52.2, signaling stronger momentum in the UK economy.
For Japanese investors, these data points highlight divergent economic dynamics in major Western markets, which could influence currency and equity flows amid ongoing global economic adjustments.
