The Australian Dollar edged higher against the US Dollar this week, buoyed by expectations of a hawkish stance from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). Hotter inflation data for July and robust household spending have increased market anticipation of potential rate hikes.

According to FX Street (ING), the Australian Dollar is currently the only G10 currency showing gains this week, supported by these stronger economic signals. On Thursday during the European trading session, the currency rose approximately 0.1% to trade around 0.7180 against the US Dollar.

For Japanese investors, the Australian Dollar’s resilience highlights shifting dynamics in the Asia-Pacific foreign exchange landscape, where central bank policies and domestic spending patterns continue to influence currency flows and investment strategies.
