The Australian Dollar weakened against the US Dollar, closing Thursday’s session down 0.80% after US producer inflation data surpassed expectations, according to FX Street. The AUD/USD currency pair dropped from a high of 0.7223 to trade near 0.7159, reflecting increased market caution amid inflation concerns.

Gold prices also fell sharply, with the XAU/USD tumbling to around $4,320 during the early Asian session on Friday. This decline was driven by rising oil prices and stronger-than-expected US Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation, which have raised market bets on an upcoming Federal Reserve rate hike, FX Street reported.

For Japanese investors, these developments underscore the ongoing impact of US inflation data on regional currencies and commodities, influencing risk sentiment and trading strategies across FX and precious metals markets.
